As 2012 begins, do you fancy meeting friendly people, learning to sing a range of beautiful music together and delighting audiences at concerts?

Yes? Why not come along to one of our rehearsals? We meet at Manvers Street Baptist Church, Bath, from 7.45 p.m. each Monday (with a very few exceptions!). For those in full-time education and aged between 16 and 25, there is the possibility of obtaining a bursary which will meet the cost of subscriptions.

You will be assured of a warm welcome.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! – COME TO OUR OPEN NIGHT

Having experienced a very exciting 60th Anniversary Year, we are now looking forward to 2012. As a start, we are holding an ‘Open Night’ at Manvers Street Baptist Church Hall (our rehearsal room) on Monday, 16th January, 7.45. – 9.45, and everyone is invited to come along to see for themselves what we are all about!

We are especially looking to recruit new singers to all sections and if you, or anyone you know, are interested in joining a Choir, why not come along? It is not so daunting as you might think!

We are in the process of confirming our engagements for the year so keep an eye on our website for details.

Christmas is coming!

This is the time in the Choir year when all the focus is on Christmas music, and singing lots of carols! You can see us at:

Saturday 3 December — ‘A Pathway to Christmas’ at Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon. 7.30 p.m. In support of Friends of Holy Trinity Church.

Thursday 8 December – Participation in Rotary Carol Service, Bath Abbey. 6.30 p.m.

Tuesday, 13 December – Carol Service: St. Michael’s Church, Broad Street, Bath. 7.30 p.m. Retiring collection in aid of MENCAP.

We will also be at the Bath Christmas Market on the 10th. There then follows a well-earned rest following what has been a magnificent year celebrating our 60th birthday.

AUTUMN AT THE ABBEY

The Silver Ring Choir is honoured to be invited by the High Sheriff of Somerset to take part in this charity concert at Bath Abbey starring JAMIE CULLUM.

The concert will be supporting Somerset CrimeBeat, Forever Friends Appeal and Quartet.

Une Soiree Musicale – St.Swithin’s Church, Paragon, Bath, Saturday, 2nd July at 7.00 p.m.

We are looking forward to sharing this concert with Chorus 14 – the Choir who hosted us when we visited Paris in 2010. The programme will be varied from Debussy to songs from the shows – something for everyone.

The Choir’s visit to the Herbertscher Chor in Germany was a great success and many friendships were renewed and new ones made. Plans are now being made for a return visit within the next couple of years.
